I have only recently joined this group and was privileged to attend with a family I work with. It was a fantastic night and I thoroughly enjoyed the time spent at the Sandcastle along with the young person I support. It was great seeing so many familiar faces and also faces from the past few years from my place of work. Everyone seemed to have such fun and enjoyment. x
Cheryl Hall Sun, 26 Feb 2012 20:55:31 +0100 CORRECT EMAIL ADDRESS
put my email address down wrong it`s
sue priest Thu, 15 Sep 2011 05:40:43 +0100 HALLOWEEN SPONSERED WALK
on sat 29th sept 2011 me and the family are doing halloween fancy dress walk to raise money for the AIMING HIGHER CHARITY.
walk will start 6pm at central pier and finish in Bispham/ red bank road
if you would like to join me. sophie and her dad phil contact me via facebook under sue salter-priest oe via email at and i will email you a sponsership form.
sue priest Thu, 15 Sep 2011 05:31:10 +0100 Tigger Bounce Party
Have to say a huge "Thank You" to Blackpool Tiggers for the Bounce Party today.

Especially to all the volunteers who worked so hard to organise it and did a fantatstic job supporting the children. Children/young people on the autistic spectrum have so few places they can go and, for them, Blackpool Tiggers is the place to go. A huge amount of effort made the day a huge success.

Hilary Ainge Sun, 30 Jan 2011 17:20:09 +0100 Blackpool Tiggers Holiday Programme
Blackpool Tigers Christmas Events are now available to book, all details are on the website

Sheila Fri, 17 Dec 2010 01:10:47 +0100 My Mother in Law was right after all.
There is a lot of doom and gloom around at the minute. I've seen their events advertised before but never made it to one. It was brilliant! I've never seen so many different styles of bikes all designed for different abilities. The kids had a great time and we got some fantastic photos for the album. Tiggers is always fun but the cycling was the icing on the cake.
Julie Turner Tue, 05 Oct 2010 06:51:38 +0100 A good evening
Asa had his first hydrotherapy session this evening provided by Blackpool Tiggers. He did really well, considering it was all new to him. The water was very warm and he loved the spa jets. On the way home in the car he seemed very relaxed and has been for the rest of the evening. Thank you Tiggers and a special thanks to Claire who encouraged Asa to do so well.
Hilary Ainge Thu, 05 Aug 2010 20:45:25 +0100 Communication
Children on the autism spectrum aren't hot on communication - usually I listen to jumbled up and unrelated facts but today was different....

'Do you know that in my game the soldiers have now got rockets?'

It doesn't sound much but I knew what and who he was talking about without having to play 20 questions.

wonder when he'll do it again - real progress!
Julie Turner Thu, 05 Aug 2010 18:50:09 +0100 What a nice man
Paul Maynard MP has good listening skills and on a visit to his surgery 3 of us Tigger parents aired our views and got a cup of tea and a biscuit!

We talked about the lack of varied educational provision for children on the autism spectrum, a subculture that was based on a negative stereotype of parents, the scrapping of statements of educational need, the lack of appropriate and timely mental health support and a certain hysterical jobsworthiness of social services noted by some o... Despite our efforts and the efforts of others involved in his care, he refuses to eat much of anything else. So we buy lots and lots of crisps which have to be hidden and locked away. It is a word that brings us a special warmth and comfort. It's a powerful word that evokes strong, emotive feelings like no other. It isn't always something we may own, it is always what we have made it. A place of memories. Home is a mixture of happiness and sadness. People live there and die there. I have a gift, made to hang where I live, and it takes the form of a cross-stitched p...
